Sewers around the world are raiding their stashes for the annual "Precious Fabric Challenge."
Sewing teacher Whitney Luckenbill from TomKat Stitchery challenges us every year to raid our stashes for that fabric that scares us. Maybe it was too expensive, too hard to sew with, too hard to find, or just too much. And she challenges us to sew with it!
I love this challenge because I believe that great fabric deserves to be sewn into great items we can use. It doesn't do anyone any good to stay locked away in a stash.

I chose this red velour (?) fabric with a cool right side/wrong side difference. I'm making a Daring Duster with it as part of the Daring Duster Sew-along this September. The fabric is heavier than the pattern calls for, so I plan to make some subtle changes to a few pattern pieces to accommodate the bulk. And maybe do the yoke and cuffs in a contrast fabric!
