Paper and digital home sewing patterns for mature figures.

Fashion illustrations of a dress and top. Both garments have square necklines, elbow-length sleeves and back darts. The dress, on a brown-haired model, has slouchy pockets and a split hem that falls below the knee. The model styled the pink dress with strappy sandals. The top, on a model with gray hair, has a slight handkerchief hem at the low hip. The model styled the top with jeans and sneakers.

Well written pattern but not a good fit for me

As I am getting older I felt this designer might create patterns that would suit me. I made the 2 hour dress and the dress was huge and very unflattering. It fit through the chest and shoulders but the rest was very large. What I am learning througj trial and error to do is to look at the fit models and if our figures don’t align then the style and fit may not be what you are after.

Thank you for the feedback, Carola. I am sorry to hear that the dress had too much style ease for your liking. Perhaps the top version would work better for you? If you want to alter your dress into a top, try cutting along a line just above the pockets and hemming to the desired length. If you like more fitted garments overall, the Sublime Shell might be just the thing for you. - Diane

alas alas alas

unhappily a serious computer challenge has left me without being able to locate this pattern. thankfully i had printed the jeans pattern from previous purchase so not locating it is not a challenge. My downloads file got lumped altogether when Geek Squad did my transition. So sorry i have not used the blouse/top/dress pattern to relate my happiness with it.

Oh computers! You should know that any patterns you buy are yours always. If you should ever misplace a digital pattern or lose your files for any reason, you may download your patterns again. Sign in to your account or email hello@stylefalcon for help. I do hope you get to try the pattern soon.

Feels like pattern not quite complete

I made this dress, but will not wear it. I will be giving it to charity. I really like the way the pockets set in by a creative folding technique. Kudos on that. However, the dress was not flattering. I found the lack of a proper neck facing to be unacceptable and very disappointing. When I take the time to make something, I want it to be made well so it will become a lasting part of my wardrobe. Very disappointed in this pattern.

Thank you for your feedback, Kathleen. I am sorry that the Two-hour Dress did not meet your expectations. When I designed this dress, my goal was to create a breezy, quick pattern - hence the name Two-hour Dress. Because the dress is made in a jersey knit, the textile does not ravel and a proper facing is not 'a must.' But I can see your point. It's a little extra work but not difficult to make a facing. I will create a tutorial for sewers who want to make this a 'Three-hour Dress.' - Diane
